Our Story

Folk Art Playhouses is a maker of handcrafted, custom designed children's wooden outdoor playhouses. From our workshop in Los Angeles, California we design and build play environments for your kids that will nurture their imagination and creativity while providing them with years worth of fun and a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Our wooden playhouses are carefully constructed of solid, quality materials, with an attention to artistry and fine detail. They are built to last. And they are built for safety. Our playhouses provide your children with a space of their own. A safe and secure little space where your children can play and grow.

Arthur Gelb, owner of Folk Art Playhouses

Our imaginative designs are the creations of owner Arthur Gelb, an award winning graphic designer and advertising executive.

Arthur has been building things his entire adult life. From home improvements to furniture to wooden works of art, he has always taken great satisfaction in the act of creation and the joy it brings to others.

Arthur never forgot the fun he had in the clubhouse he shared with his childhood friends back in Flatbush, New York. And he really enjoyed building the treehouse his young son spent many happy hours playing in with his friends. Now he's building playhouses for a whole new generation of kids just like yours.
